Withdrawal
Between volunteering at the clinic and school work, I've hardly touched the gray dress. I have this paper to write that's been hanging over my head. It has a way of completely blocking my creativity so I'm going to put a stop to it tomorrow. After I submit it, I'll be able to breathe again. And sew.
Dilemma
I was reading Gigi's post and saw the white skirt with grommets of all different sizes. That set me off on a day dream about my planned grommet suit. The question is, should I stick to my original plan of knocking off the St. John suit as closely as possible or should I use various sizes of grommets to decorate the neckline and sleeve hem bands? .

I sooo understand wanting to sew but having other work to do first and this situation always seems to cause me to rethink my current original sewing design plans. I have found that if I can return to my original vision, hold onto it hard, and make changes from there once I can get to sewing, I can unlease that pent up design energy into something totally my own. Keep dreaming...the fabric will be there when you're ready!
That suit is really pretty!
For me, if I really love an outfit and want to knock it off I try to stick close to the original. I find that if I stray to far from the original design I am dissapointed with my out come..
Thats just me though... you are very good at sewing and making things that look good on you. It will all just flow when you get going with it!!
You do know the answer to this, right? Test! Make some test swatches and see what you think.
BTW, did you see that you were the Featured Person on PR yesterday?
