I started with New Look 6407 because I like the way it fits. I morphed a new neckline on it - Shirt with Attitude. Then I added the sleeve and hem bands, and sewed ties in the side seams, omitting the back darts. The front is cut on fabric fold.
I've had the pattern for a while now but flat pattern measuring showed it would be huge so it wasn't until I tried NL 6407 that I figured out just what I wanted.
I did the embroidery over 3 days - first I had to figure out how to do it in the Artista software (glad to have the hardcopy manual), then I realized that the collar curves some and I needed something for the back of it so the upside-down heart shape at center back is my creation - copy, paste, edit of the large design. Then I decided that if I'm going to put this much work into something, I might as well make two at the same time. So I have another tunic all cut out and embroidered, in a bright red linen/cotton blend, except that got put on the back burner because the temperature here does not want to climb out of the low 60's - now I need a transitional jacket with a hood because it always rains here - I'm drafting the pattern myself, it's almost ready.
Anyway, red tunic will have its turn when the weather gets better. You know, like summer.
Seriously, a high of 66F? In July? That's a low, ladies and gentlemen, at least for this Floridian. But of course, Germany has to be different, huh?

Your tunic looks wonderful. Congratulations on mastering your Bernina software. Barbara Klink
What a totally awesome job! That is just fabulous! I recently purchased some linen tops I'd like to try something like that on them.
I love the Bernina software, but I think I prefer manually splitting to the multihoop feature. It doesn't seem to me like the software is "smart" about where it makes the split.
