A horrible thing happened today - after two days of knitting and reknitting the back and front of a sleeveless sweater (beginner machine knitter here), blocking, and kitchener-stitching the left shoulder seam, I hung the neckline back on the machine to work the cowl. Ten rows later, I realized a stitch got hung there that didn't belong and before I could fix it, the yarn broke. So now I have a gaping hole that I don't know how to fix. I took the whole thing off the machine and will probably start all over again, just not today.
I made this one the week of our wedding. I needed a project to keep my sanity intact, and figured there was nothing better than a pattern I already knew, and yarn I love to work with. Stitch Diva Studios' Casual Glamour Capelet in Cascade 220, again; this time the trim is Adriafil Stars from the discount bin at my LYS. Actually, this was the first time I used a trim on this pattern, and seeing the result, I went back to the grey capelet and trimmed it in winter white. The only thing with these "furry" yarns is that I don't see how one would do more than one row of crochet. You can't see the darn stitches. How do people ever make a whole garment from yarns like that?
Last week I also made a hat to go with this capelet, but more about that when I get a decent picture.
I made this capelet on a trip to Missouri in August. The pattern comes from Stitch Diva Studios (http://www.stitchdiva.com/), it's the Casual Glamour Capelet. Very easy, even for beginners. A few weeks ago, I decided to add a trim to it and this is the result. I used Cascade 220, trimmed with Wendy Shimmer. The cameo pin is from Newport News - I saw it in the catalog when I was knitting the capelet, and thought it was just the right touch.
